So you decide to visit Sesame Place after water park season has ended. No fear, there are still so many things to do- frankly more than you can do in a day. Here are five things you should know first before you go to Sesame Place Halloween Spooktacular or A Very Furry Christmas.

Check The Offers Before Buying

Sesame place runs deals during the off-season such as buy one day get another for free that can be used during your visit or at another time. This deal tends to run in the fall. Another deal to look out for during the winter season is their buy one character meal and get a child’s ticket free. (More about character meals later.) Lastly, when it comes staying overnight check Sesame’s vacation package deals to get lower prices of hotels rooms in the surrounding area.

Check Their Hours

You might be saying, this is obvious. But hear me out- their hours vary greatly from season to season. The Halloween Spooktacular is half day Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The Very Furry Christmas is only Saturday and half a day Sunday. No weekdays for those hoping to beat the crowds. But have no fear you can fit a lot in a day, even with travel. Again, please check before you go so you don’t make the mistake I did of booking two days and only being able to do one!

Character Meals

I highly recommend securing a breakfast, lunch or dinner with the characters. This is a park extra- not included in the park price of admission. This is a sure way to meet the main Sesame Street friends without waiting on any lines. When you arrive they assign you a table, the earlier you get there the closer to the stage you’ll be but been the far tables have a great view. Then there is a buffet with more food than you could ever need- we even took some wrapped cookies to go! The characters come around to meet each child. To close the meal the place turns into a rave for the kids to dance and sing while the characters preform.

Sunny Day Guarantee

Don’t let the possibility of rain stop you! If the weather effects the parks ability to run certain rides or attractions, or if it rains steadily for 1 hour at least than you can go to guests services to get a free ticket for each of your paid tickets good for the next year. Let’s say it it rained from 10-11 but the rest of your day was sunny and beautiful you can ask for your sunny day tickets to come back again. A great hack that I did not see many people utilizing the day we went.

Stay For The Parade

Whether you’re a go with the flow type of person or you have your park trips scheduled out, make sure you check the times for the parade and line up at least fifteen mins early to catch a good view. Elmo, Abby, Cookie, Bert, Ernie, the Count, Grover, Prairie Dawn, and even Oscar and his buddy Slimey all sing and dance their way down Sesame Street on floats. If you haven’t caught your favorite character before now, the parade is a great way to check them off your list.
